y'all..... Matilda has been holding out on us! This whole week I thought she's been roosting over five eggs. She's been staying a very long time at my house, and leaving in the evenings. On Monday she had covered up the nest with down and feathers. After celebrating Cinco de Mayo with some old workers, I decided to check my camera. Much to my surprise - She doesn't have five eggs. SHE HAS 10!
I repeat... 10 EGGS!
Needless to say, my timeline is now all messed up. I will need to redo my estimate on when the hatchlings will be here. I had some good advice from a friend of mine about signs of when the little ones are close to being born.
So here's to Matilda! For her clutch of 10!
